ROCK CREEK - SOUTH SILVER CLOUD
The premier project acquired by Duncan
Park is the Rock Creek Gold-Silver Property, a potentially
high-grade, low-risk, Midas-type exploration target located
northeast of Newmont's Mule Canyon Mine and the mining town
Battle Mountain. The northern extension of Rock Creek, also
acquired by Duncan Park, is called the South Silver Cloud
target area.
Rock Creek shows surface exposures of moderate to high-grade
gold mineralization, along north-trending vein structures
of the Northern Nevada Rift. The Northern Nevada Rift is
a mega-scale structural feature which hosts numerous gold
deposits which each carry 1 to 7 million ounces of contained
gold and substantial silver reserves.
Rock Creek has been the subject of several near-surface drilling
programs, by Freeport, Echo Bay and Barrick. A total of 122
holes are reported to have been drilled along the 11 mile
length of the Rock Creek - South Silver Cloud Property, however
no holes have been drilled on the main Rock Creek structures
to depths of more than 500 feet below outcrop. A new geologic
model has been developed by the industry which shows that
Midas (Newmont)-Ivanhoe (Hecla Mining/GBG)-Rock Creek type
vein gold-silver deposits are developed preferentially at
depths of 250 to 300 meters below the silica sinter deposits
which are found at the ground surface above these deposits.
Although Rock Creek has never been drill-tested at these
depths, the area shows a highly gold-enriched surface silica
sinter, which occurs directly above the highest-grade gold-silver
mineralization drilled out by previous operators at Rock
Creek. Rock Creek, based on these parameters, truly offers
excellent potential to develop into a new, high-grade, Midas-scale
mine complex for Duncan Park Holdings. Newmont Mining is
still mining its Mule Canyon Mine, located just southwest
of Rock Creek, and furthermore has ready-made processing
facilities which could be utilized to custom mill any ores
mined from Rock Creek - South Silver Cloud.
Duncan Park intends to conduct an aggressive exploration
program at Rock Creek - South Silver Cloud during the coming
year.
